The
altitude of this region ranges between 4,877m. - 8,848m.It includes eight of
the 14 highest summits in the world which exceed an altitude of 8,000m including
Everest, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and others.
Everest
The Khumbu region of Nepal is one of the best-known treks in the world. This
is the land of the Sherpa people and the world's great 8,000 meter peaks. Many
trekkers walk in from the roadhead at Jiri, through the lovely rolling hills
of the Solu region. Others fly in to the village of Lukla to start their trek.
A few days above Lukla is the entrance to the Sagarmatha National Park and the
town of Namche Bazaar, where most trekkers take a day to acclimatize to the
high altitude. From here one may branch towards the village of Thame or continue
on to take on of the two main Khumbu routes, to Gokyo Lake or towards the Everest
base camp.
Annapurna
It is in western part of Nepal. The Annapurna Conservation Area Project, Nepal's
largest conservation covering over 7600sq. km protects this area. Annapurna
is the world's most popular region for unique scenes and a meditative glimpse
of SHANGRI-LA.
The Annapurna is a rare combination of long arrays of snow capped peaks, crystal
clear lakes, turbulent rivers with deep gorges, Tibetan monasteries, hot-springs,
and picturesque villages inhabited by simple and friendly local people.
The famous places such as Manang, Muktinath, Marphaa and Ghaundrung, villages
offer an immense contrast and a variety of different ethnic groups, who represent
a spectacular mix up of lifestyle, culture and tradition as well. Annapurna
Himalayan is a marvellouus place for trekking. Astonishing altitude variations
and ecological diversity make this area flow over with natural beauty.

To start Gazing on an endless expanse of yellow and gray rolling hills eroded
by wind and time. Two fascinating geological specimens are the Muktinath fossils
(small black stones commonly known as saligram) which are about 100 millions
years old and the eternal lamp of natural gas in Muktinath. Muktinath meant
for "God of Nirvana". It is popular for this place that you will get
salvation once you visit this temple and many artful monasteries.
In Annapurna you may trek up to 2 days to 27 days. The elevation of the trails
rises from 850m( 2788ft) to 5416m( 17,764ft).
You can reach Annapurna by following possible ways:-
1. Kathmandu to Besishar or Pokhara by overland.
2. Pokhara to Beni or Nayapul by overland.
3. Pokhara to Jomsom or Hungde by air.

Langtang
Khaptad is a part of western Nepal. The Khaptad National Park covers 225 sq
Km of grassland and forested plateau. Khaptad Baba, a Hindu guru, lived here
for many years. A 5 Km area in the park has been reserved for meditation and
tranquility , where butchering, alcohal and tobacco are forbidden. The habitat
at the park provides good cover for bear, leopard, common langur, musk deer
as well as many species of birds. Herbs with medicinal properties and wild flowers
grow in this national park.
