itinerary covering Darjeeling with Gangtok and Kalimpong. Darjeeling - popular
for its tea and Kanchanjunga (8598 m/28209 ft) India's highest peak. Some of
the best views of the entire snow-clad range of the Eastern Himalayan peaks
can be enjoyed from the windy, prayer flag-lined Observatory Hill.
Gangtok - though now full of modern structures, Gangtok's "Shangrila"
aspects can still be experienced in pockets of the city and in its alpine environs.
Kalimpong - once part of Sikkimese and then Bhutanese territory, before
British India in the 19th century. It was head of the ancient trade route to
Tibet and still has the feel of a frontier town.

Darjeeling.
Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 02 DARJEELING
Early morning excursion trip to Tiger Hill to behold the most spectacular sunrise
and the Himalayan Mountains with the visit to Ghoom Monastery (Yiga-Choling)
to see the statue of Maitry (Coming Buddha). After breakfast half day local
sightseeing tour of Darjeeling.
Visit: Tea Garden and Market. Afternoon free and overnight at hotel.

03 DARJEELING - GANGTOK (95 km)
Morning drive to Gangtok by Car/Jeep.

Arr: Gangtok
Upon arrival direct transfer to hotel. Afternoon visit Enchey Monastery, Cottage
Industry, International Flower Festival, Do-Drul Chorten & Lall Market.
Evening free and overnight stay at hotel.
Day 04 GANGTOK
After breakfast excursion trip to Tashiview Point. Afternoon visit Tibetology.

Day 05 GANGTOK - KALIMPONG (83 km)
