Do's & Don'ts
GENERAL
(a) Those interested in photography/videography/investigation inside a sanctuary
or a Marine National park, must obtain permits from the chief Wildlife Warden.
(b) Taking pictures of the airport, government dockyard, defence establishment,
naval wharf, Dhanikari Dam and Chatham saw Mill is prohibited.
( c) Hunting wildlife is not permitted except with a valid licence.
(d ) A trasit pass has to be obtained from the Deputy Conservator of Forests,Wildlife
Division, Port Blair. Ttranport any wild animal/trophy/article, outside the
islands.
(e ) Carrying sea fans and sea shells is prohibited unless specific permits
are obtained from the Fisheries Department.
(f) Encourage effort to save coral reefs and tropical forests.
DO'S
* Treat the National Park as it is a sanctum sanctorum of our precious natural
heritage.
* Make use of the service of authorized tourist guides
* Learn more about reefs, other marine life and tropical forest. This will make
your visit more enjoyable.
* Help us to keep the beaches and the environment clean.
* Dispose off the garbags and plastics at proper place/dustbins.
* Take care of the coral reef , not just for yourself, but for all who follow.
* Give your valuable comments and observations for ensuring better management
of the parks.
* Take back only photos and sweet memories , leave only foor prints and ripples.
* For foreign national-please obtain the permit before enterning the islands.
DON'TS
* Do not enter the National Park Without permit
* For foreign national- please do not enter the islands without permit
* Do not collect, destroy of remove any living or dead animal/plant.
* Do not collect dead coral or touch/break live coral. please do not stand on
the coral reef while snorkeling/Scuba diving.
* Do not take video or film without permit.
* Do not throw garbage and plastics in public places, beaches and in to the
sea.
* Person who commits breach of any of the conditions of the Wildlife Protections
shall be punishable with a terms which may extend upto 3 years or a fine upto
Rs. 25,000/- or both.
